Targeting Cancer -- Precision Radiotherapy

Welcome Guest

Oncology is ever expanding branch of medicine. Although medical science has overcome many hurdles with regard to the management of cancer, still we have to go a long way. Radiotherapy is a very important pillar of oncology management either working solely or in addition to surgery or chemotherapy.

Oncology is ever expanding branch of medicine. Although medical science has overcome many hurdles with regard to the management of cancer, still we have to go a long way. Radiotherapy is a very important pillar of oncology management either working solely or in addition to surgery or chemotherapy. The biggest challenge for radiation oncology in the current scenario is organ motion and the good news is now we have a technology which enable us to counter it. This will help us to target tumors more precisely.

Image guided radiotherapy, four dimensional imaging and Linear Accelerator ( capable of capturing internal organ motion) are all part of technological innovations which empowers radiation oncologists to treat most challenging scenarios in oncology.

Hope these modern technologies will take us further ahead of already achieved success milestones.
